GitHub release watching¶
On https://github.com/elastic/elasticsearch: Watch → Custom → Releases. Do the same for elastic/kibana, elastic/logstash and elastic/beats if you run them.
This is the lowest-noise option: one email per release.
Atom feeds¶
Every GitHub repository publishes a releases feed:
https://github.com/elastic/elasticsearch/releases.atom
https://github.com/elastic/kibana/releases.atom
Add the feeds to a feed reader, or pipe them into email with a tool such as rss2email if you'd rather not use a reader.
Release notes and security announcements¶
- Release notes: https://www.elastic.co/docs/release-notes/elasticsearch
- Security announcements, which matter more than feature releases: the Security Announcements category on https://discuss.elastic.co. You can watch a single category there instead of the whole forum, which is mostly Q&A.
Elastic Cloud Hosted¶
The ECH console flags available upgrades on each deployment. If deployments are managed with Terraform, bump version in code instead of upgrading through the console, so state doesn't drift.
