Callcentric is a U.S.-based pay-as-you-go SIP provider that works with any standard SIP ATA. It's slightly less Canada-oriented than VoIP.ms, but simple to set up. See also SIP providers.

Complete Base configuration first.

Callcentric account

Username format

Every Callcentric account has a number starting with 1777. Each line is an extension of that account:

Extension SIP username
100 (main) The 1777 number alone, for example 17770001234
101 1777 number + extension, for example 17770001234101

Using a separate extension for the ATA (rather than the main one) makes it easy to tell devices apart and revoke one without affecting others.

SIP password

Each extension has its own SIP password, set under the Extension menu in My Callcentric. Use a long, random value.

Server

Use the SIP server/domain shown in your My Callcentric account for device configuration. Callcentric has changed its recommended server settings over the years, so copy it from the portal rather than from an old guide.

Calling and numbers

Outbound calling requires a rate plan or prepaid credit. Incoming calls to a Callcentric number (DID) need the DID routed to the extension the ATA uses. Callcentric suggests a free test call to 17771234567 to confirm audio works.

911

Register a 911 address for the number in My Callcentric before relying on the line.
